True Parents Centered Meditation

Recall that God is the Real or Inner True Parents. The teacher tries to connect the students to God. Nevertheless, the teacher on the earth who is in line with God, can indeed do his/her/their best, and it is the duty of any good teacher to lead their student to the higher level teacher.

For those interested in the Buddhist history of Tibet, this is exactly what Milarepa’s teacher did. The teacher told Milarepa about a method that would lead to enlightenment in one day. Milarepa thought, “Great! I’ll take a nap today and do it tomorrow!” at which that teacher realized that he was not the right teacher for Milarepa and sent him off to his teacher [the teacher’s teacher].

Both True Parents have been my object of constant remembrance since I joined in 1974. It’s the meditation practice that I learned before I joined the church in my one year at RPI in Troy, NY.

[The Basic idea:]

Pay attention to your heart area; don’t try to stop your thoughts or to put yourself in any strange state; just think whatever you are going to think, but at the same time remember your heart area – True Father said that it is an energy center that represents God to which the energy of God comes even while developing in our mother’s womb – and at the same time, remember God, True Parents, and Divine Principle. After a while it becomes automatic, even while you are sleeping or dreaming.

[“Where did Father say anything like that?” you might ask.]

[Right here in “Abels’ Right Path From The Providential Point Of View” Dec. 30, 1979]

At first you have to make effort to keep thinking about me, but over the years it becomes second nature, like breathing. Then you naturally wonder what I’m doing and if I’m having as difficult a time as you are. If you become like that over the years then spiritually there is no distance between us, even though we are far apart. Then you are close to Mother and me every moment of the day and everything you want to do is connected with True Parents.

When you want to go to a party you can think, “That means I want to go to East Garden.” Or if you want to meet your sweetheart your mind says, “Actually I am missing my Parents.” If you can switch your thinking like this then you are blessed. Then you want to experience what I am experiencing and even if I am suffering you want to suffer with me. You want to do whatever I am doing because you love me. That closeness matters most of all’ and other things have less value.

If you have that invisible bond with True Parents, Satan is absolutely powerless. This is the connection you must secure with heaven. Compared to the value of this bond, the value of all the diamonds in the world is minimal. Do you think this would be reward enough for you?

Read the whole speech, and if you put it into practice, you’ll definitely be on the path, or the Way that Jesus testified that his life and truth represented.

“Where did he say anything like that?” you might ask. Right here in the Gospel of John:

Jesus the Way to the Father

Thomas said to him, “Lord, we don’t know where you are going, so how can we know the way?”

Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. If you really know me, you will know[b] my Father as well. From now on, you do know him and have seen him.”

Philip said, “Lord, show us the Father and that will be enough for us.”

Jesus answered: “Don’t you know me, Philip, even after I have been among you such a long time? Anyone who has seen me has seen the Father. How can you say, ‘Show us the Father’? 10 Don’t you believe that I am in the Father, and that the Father is in me? The words I say to you I do not speak on my own authority. Rather, it is the Father, living in me, who is doing his work. 11 Believe me when I say that I am in the Father and the Father is in me; or at least believe on the evidence of the works themselves. 12 Very truly I tell you, whoever believes in me will do the works I have been doing, and they will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father. 13 And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son. 14 You may ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it.

  1. Absolutely beautiful Peter! Thank you!
You are definitely one of my teachers! I treasure you introducing me to True Parents’ Heart Meditation. God bless you Peter! And with you your family clan, tribe, Sahaj Marg and WRIST!

  2. According to Divine Principle, we have two minds, one spiritual and one physical. One represents the desire of the spirit and the other the desire of the body. Our job is to focus the two minds. If you were really focused, I wouldn’t have to deliver a sermon this morning because there would be nothing you could not see or perceive. If you focus on me, you will automatically know what I am thinking and want to tell you.
